The food fest is back in town again and they’ve got live cattle in a pen in the market place. I just don’t understand how people, parents, can introduce themselves and their children to these poor creatures, then offer them a burger carved from the same beautiful animal. There’s no real effort being made to connect the dots. If you feel you must feed your child the ground...

I don't understand
thunderouswall-ofsound: Why people think that fish classifies as okay for vegetarians/vegans.. What makes a fish less alive than any other animal? My Sister’s catering tutor claimed that some “Vegetarians” eat fish and chicken. She was all, “No they don’t, that’s just a fussy eater.” So proud :)

once-uponamemory: I wish people would stop talking to me about what I eat and my weight already. Fucks sake. Yes I’ve lost weight, yes I am still eating, no it’s not bad that I’ve given up meat. Leave me alone. Giving up meat was one of the best things I’ve ever done for my body and my weight (apart from joining a slimming club). You become so much more aware of what you’re putting...

frenzymcgee: Someone should make an app so you can scan a UPC on food it shows you if the food is vegetarian, vegan, gluten free etc. That would be super handy. Developers, get on this!

hazelrosalind: i cant believe i actually used to enjoy eating meat I know, it’s a weird feeling. Feels good :) [edit] Actually, should I be repulsed by my former meat-eating self or proud that I don’t eat it now? Ethics. [/edit]

brownandigetdown: I don’t get when people are so surprised that as a vegetarian I don’t eat salads. They then try to convince me of how amazing salads are and I just haven’t had good ones. No, I just really don’t enjoy salads unless they’re soaking in dressing, in which case I feel that it defeats the purpose of a salad. Basically, in my opinion, salads suck. I have to agree. Unless...

Life of a Poor Vegetarian: Eggs pretending to be... →
justabitvegetarian: This is a pretty cheap, but filling breakfast for the go. :) 8 Large Eggs, whisked 1 Cup Fresh Broccoli Crowns, chopped and sauteed in 1 tbsp. olive oil for 3-4 minutes until softened 2 Green Onions, chopped and sauteed with broccoli 1 Cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded 1/2 Cup… I will have to make this diet-friendly and attempt this recipe! Anything I can make (or...

sterlingsmiles: I hate when people tell me they wish I eat meat. Especially when my determination to become and stay a vegetarian is the thing I love most about myself. I am proud of myself, and although I don’t need you to be proud of me I just wish more people were. Sometimes, being proud of yourself and who you are is more important than all the praise and acceptance in the world.

kayleybug: Just got enamel-care toothpaste and sensitive mouthwash from Superdrug for a grand total of £1.65 (I don’t have sensitive teeth, I just like to protect my enamel!) . Suitable for vegans and vegetarians, cruelty free, BUAV approved. Superdrug rules, is what I’m saying here! Why don’t they do more… They really do need to do more to promote their cruelty free range. Can’t...

Anonymous asked: It seems to me, that you're more a vegan than a vegetarian?? I'm wondering if you know the difference? I hope so. Anyway, I came looking for VEGETARIAN inspriration and found only vegan? A vegetarian can certainly be Vegan but not the other way round! Maybe just by chance it's only vegan, but since you've put soymilk in your coffee....I'm just saying.

the hannah blog: Fried Tofu and Shiitake Mushrooms →
thehannahblog: I have a philosophy about vegetarian cuisine: celebrate the ingredients for what they are instead of trying to turn them into what they aren’t. Far too much time is spent trying to magically make tofu into meat substitute, when tofu is really best served as tofu. So, here you go, a vegetarian… I’ve never attempted to cook shiitake mushrooms, or frying tofu, so this...

Everything little thing matters :) →
How many months have you been a vegetarian? 5 How many animals you saved: 84 How many lbs of meat you didn’t eat: 81 Lbs of CO2 not released into the atmosphere: 670 I feel like I should do this calculator every month. It’ll help me realise how much of a difference I am making to myself and to the environment, by doing something as simple as not eating meat.

I hate the smell of meat.
myblack-is-beautiful: Smells that used to make my mouth water now turn my stomach.  I’ve began to feel the exact same way. Maybe it’s something psychological, but things that I used to love now make me feel queasy, like adverts for burgers, or the smell of cooking meat. Especially meat stew, which my mother unfortunately loves to cook this time of year. I’d much rather wake...
